AutoZone Assembling LLC manufactured and supplied 100 ambulances to the Ministry of Health in Ivory Coast, built on the Hyundai Staria platform. The Ministry needed a fleet that could serve city hospitals and outlying regions where patient transport had been unreliable, and the order was placed to cover both.
Each ambulance was built to meet the safety and medical equipment standards required for emergency use. Units were fitted with automatic loading stretchers, oxygen cylinders with medical regulators and flow meters, portable suction units, roof-mounted IV hooks, and PVC medical cabinets for equipment and medicine storage. Patient compartments include dedicated air conditioning, LED cabinet lighting, a bulkhead with sliding glass window, and marine plywood flooring with vinyl coating.
The fleet was also specified with patient monitors, automated external defibrillators, and portable ventilators, giving crews the equipment to stabilise patients before reaching hospital. The Staria was selected for its cabin height and payload, which allowed a full medical fit-out without compromising ride quality on poor roads.
