Toyota Hiace ALS Ambulance with Fibreglass Interior

The Toyota HiAce ALS ambulance carries full advanced life support equipment in a mid-size van. Autozone Assembling LLC, an ambulance manufacturer in Dubai, builds it on the new Toyota HiAce High Roof. It runs a 3.5L gasoline engine with an automatic transmission. The big difference is inside. Cabinets and wall panels in the patient area are molded fiberglass.

Fiberglass matters for infection control. Molded panels have very few joints, leaving dirt and spills almost nowhere to settle. The smooth surface does not absorb body fluids and wipes clean between patients. It also holds its shape in high summer heat.

The heavy-duty automatic loading stretcher carries patients up to 250 kg and locks securely onto its platform. A folding stretcher goes where the main stretcher cannot, like stairwells and tight corridors. The right side has an orange squad bench with seat belts. An attendant seat at the head of the stretcher lets a paramedic watch the patient closely.

The left wall holds the main ALS equipment. A defibrillator and an emergency ventilator are on board for cardiac arrest and breathing failure. The patient monitor tracks vital signs, and a portable suction unit clears the airway. For trauma calls, a portable ultrasound gives an early look at internal injuries. Two oxygen cylinders, each with its own valve and regulator, sit behind a clear cabinet panel.

Roof-mounted air conditioning cools the patient area. Outside, an LED light bar, roof beacons, and grille flashers make the ambulance hard to miss. The HiAce is easy to handle in narrow city streets.
