Basic Life Support (BLS) Ambulances
A BLS ambulance gives your crew what it needs to stabilise a patient and reach the hospital safely. AutoZone UAE builds basic life support ambulances on van and 4×4 chassis and handles every fit-out in-house. Each unit passes a QC check before it ships. Browse the models below, or send us your spec for a quote.
What Is a Basic Life Support Ambulance?
A basic life support ambulance carries the equipment for non-invasive care on the way to hospital. EMTs use it for oxygen therapy, CPR, bleeding control, and spinal immobilisation. It suits stable patients and most emergency calls that don’t need paramedic-level treatment.
Hospitals rely on BLS units for inter-facility transfers and discharge runs. Health ministries and NGOs buy them in volume for district and rural coverage. Airports, stadiums, oil fields, and mining camps keep them on standby too. For malls and indoor venues, our electric golf cart ambulance brings a BLS kit into tight spaces.
Chassis Options for BLS Ambulances
Pick the chassis by the roads you cover and the parts support in your country. These are the platforms we convert most often:
- Toyota Hiace high roof: petrol or diesel. We ship units every year to buyers in Africa and Central Asia.
- Nissan Urvan high roof: a wide body and an easy loading height for stretcher work.
- Hyundai H1 extended high roof and Hyundai Staria: the H1’s roof canopy sits on a steel rollover frame. The Staria suits buyers after a newer, cost-efficient van.
- Mercedes Sprinter: standing headroom, and the chassis keeps its dealer warranty after conversion.
- GMC Savana: a US-built van with a 6.0-litre petrol engine. We delivered more than 55 Savana ambulances to Iraq’s health ministry through UNOPS.
- Toyota Land Cruiser 78 (HZJ78): a 4×4 BLS ambulance for rural roads and desert tracks.
Vans without a factory high roof can take a raised roof conversion for extra headroom. For box bodies on a truck chassis, see our Type I ambulances. Crews in high-risk areas can choose our armoured Land Cruiser ambulances. You’ll find every platform in our full ambulance range.

Need more on board? We also supply scoop stretchers, spine boards, head immobilisers and CPR boards from our own equipment range.
Do You Need a BLS or ALS Ambulance?
The answer depends on the care your crew gives on the move. A BLS unit covers non-invasive treatment and safe transport. An ALS ambulance adds a cardiac monitor, ventilator, infusion pumps, and a drug cabinet for paramedic-led care.
Choose BLS for planned transfers and most first-response calls. Go with ALS when paramedics or doctors will treat critical patients in transit.
Built in the UAE, Delivered Worldwide
AutoZone UAE converts more than 1,000 ambulances and mobile clinics every year. Health ministries and private hospitals run our vehicles across the Middle East and Africa. We also build for UN agencies, including WHO, UNFPA, UNOPS and UNDP.
In 2019 and 2020, we delivered 84 Toyota 4×4 patient transport ambulances to Malawi’s Ministry of Health. The projects and fleets page covers that order and others.
QC signs off every build stage before work moves on. Our quality system holds ISO 9001 certification, and our vehicle production carries EN 1789 accreditation. ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 cover our environmental and workplace safety management. An in-house shipment team books sea and air freight to your port or airport.
